Good Friday
If you've been following the news at all today, then you're most likely aware of the jet crash that happened in Virginia Beach this afternoon. The F-18 appeared to have a malfunction and crashed into an apartment complex 30 minutes from where we live. The news shocked all of us residents as the presence of jet flying overhead is synonymous with Virginia Beach. I personally have not had one visit to that area without a loud jet flying overhead. The jet belonged to the Oceana Base which was just 2 miles away from the crash site. Luckily, the pilots of the two seater plane managed to eject in time and were relatively unharmed. There were other minor injuries from those on the ground. And so far, there are no reported fatalities which is clearly a miracle considering three of five of the apartment buildings were completely destroyed while the other two were heavily damaged. Indeed it was a Good Friday here in Virginia. It could have been much worse. Please keep the families involved in your prayers as they are still continuing their search for bodies. Here is a link to my favorite local news station here in Virginia Beach where you can obtain the latest updates.
