Update on Florida Vacation
We have been quite busy the last few days. On Thursday, we took Tyler to Animal Kingdom. Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to go see this park. Chellee, Peter and their two girls came along too. The safari ride was really cool! We drove through the jungle to see elephants, giraffes, alligators, zebras, lions, and several more animals. It actually felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere because the animals were not enclosed in cages. It was quite the experience! The park was very busy and so wait for most of the rides were quite long, however we decided to wait in line for the bug show. By this time, we had been in the park all day and Tyler was starting to get very sleepy. He ended up falling asleep just as we were heading into the dark cave, which was the entrance to the show. We were amazed that he slept through the loud sounds and spraying of water during the show.
On Friday, we went over to Dad and Judy's house for dinner at their new home. We had a really nice time catching up and talking about all of our travels. They share the same love for travel as Steve and I and they have been to many different places around the world. We had fun swapping travel stories and showing them some of our photos from our trips throughout Europe. Dad and Judy are house flippers and Steve and I have always been interested in it and have considered doing this after Steve retires from the military. They gave us great advice if we should get into this profession. It was wonderful spending time with you guys and we hope to see you soon!
Saturday we met up with one of our dearest friends, Robyn and her daughter Leila. Robyn and Steve used to be stationed together in Crete, Greece when Steve was still in weather. Robyn and I became very good friends when we were stationed together in Sicily. Robyn treated us to lunch at a really good Mexican restaurant near Steve's mom's house. After lunch, we invited Robyn and Leila back to Sandy's for cake. Leila had fun running around the backyard and we took some photos and picked some citrus for Robyn to take back home.
Tonight we are staying over Chellee and Peter's and getting up early tomorrow morning to head back to Maryland. Chellee and Peter are coming back with us!
