Day 3 Crete Vacation Paleochora
We packed up our bags, had breakfast and headed for a little drive through the mountains to our next destination, Paleochora. On the way there we took a little stop to see the entrance to the Samaria Gorge for some photos. We also ran into some sheep blocking the road. The farmer was herding them home. It reminded us of our Sicilian days. We also stopped to check out a cool old church, however it was locked up so we couldn't venture inside. Once we reached Paleochora, we had lunch and then checked into our "home" for the night four days. A cute room with real used postage stamps on the wall as a kind of wallpaper. Then we got dressed and headed across the street to the beach, however we weren't there long before an accident happened. Tyler got a cut on his toe from one of the rocks! We carried him back to the hotel room and rested for the remainder of the afternoon. Later on, Dad went to go seek some take out dinner to bring back to our room. The place he ordered from didn't have take out, but instead the lady followed Steve back to our room with a tray of food from down the street. Only in Crete! The hospitality of these people are amazing! Tyler felt all better after dinner and so we checked out a cool ancient castle on the hill just behind us and there we did a cache. We then walked through the town and got some night time gelato before going to bed.
