Skating

This afternoon we had a blast ice skating at Tyler's friend's birthday party. Tyler hadn't been on ice skates since he was 4 years old. To our complete surprise though, it didn't take him long before he was zooming down the ice. He fell on his bottom a few times, but it's all part of the learning experience. He just got right back up again and continued on as if nothing happened. I joined him later on with a pair of skates and Steve said that if it wasn't so crowded that he would have as well. Tyler had so much fun that he wants to go back soon. Might as well get all the practice he can here before he joins the real ice skaters in Canada. LOL

Tyler 9th Birthday

So very hard to believe, but our boy is now 9 years old! How quickly the years flew by since that day when we first laid eyes on him and instantly fell in love. To celebrate his special day, we invited the boys in his class and a few other friends to come party.

Like last year's party, Tyler wanted it to be Minecraft themed. We played hot potato with Minecraft music playing and did a pull the string pinata with a Minecraft ghast. The kids had a total blast!

Then it was time to open the gifts. He got a lot of Minecraft related toys, some Nerf guns, Legos, and books.

The pizza delivery guy came with our pizzas and after the kids ate, it was time for cake. Tyler wanted his cake to be modeled after a Minecraft toy he received last year at hiss party. It was the Diamond Armored Steve which I made in 3D. Everyone loved the cake, everyone had seconds and one kid even went back for his 6th!! His mom is one of my regular customers. I think I know why. LOL

Afterwards, the kids wanted to put on Tyler's Creeper costume from Halloween last year. They all had turns wearing it while other kids wore the Steve and Creeper heads. Overall, it was a fantastic celebration to honor our son whom we love with all of heart and soul. He completed our lives and made it more enriched with so much love, happiness and everyday laughter. We are forever thankful to God for giving us this amazing gift.

Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day started out with Tyler, with help from Dad, making us heart shaped toast for breakfast. He offered to make us lunch and dinner too "since Mom cooks for us all the time". I told him that wasn't necessary and that it was his special day too. We exchanged chocolates, homemade cards and I made some Valentine's Day cookies. Steve made me cappuccino with a heart.

Since the day fell on an anniversary of a big protest that happened a few years, we were told by the military to restrict our travel for the weekend. We went to the new mall near our house for something to do and to get out for awhile.

The next day, Tyler had school, but Steve had the day off for President's Day. So, he and I went and had a nice Valentine's Day meal just the two of us at a really good buffet place. It was a great way to top off our Valentine's Day weekend.

Shorts to School

This time next year when we live in Canada, I highly doubt we'll be wearing shorts to school.

Crazy Cat

So this morning, Tiara turned into a little monkey. First found her on top of our kitchen cabinets. ON TOP!!! I still have no clue how on earth she got up there. Then soon after when I was in the living room, I saw her jump from the television stand right up on to the top of the bookshelf!!! She jumped down with one of her lizard toys in her mouth. LOL The next thing I know she is about to jump on top the other book shelf. Crazy cat, she is!!
